I love May. I love Mothers day.

Happy Mothers day to all of you!

Last night...in order to beat the Mothers day Sunday brunch crowd.....my husband and I took mom out to dinner at a very unique place. It is called Honey Creek Resort. It is located on Rathbun lake and is owned and maintained by the DNR. It is beautiful.

It is approximately a 2 hour drive south of us. We enjoyed the wonderful rural scenery and all the green that is now surrounding us everywhere we look. Some people call it Spring......I call it MAY!!! I just love May!!!

Dinner was wonderful. Food and conversation were great and we all enjoyed every bite.

I had to take my dessert "to go". I couldn't find room for one more bite. After the two hour ride I was ready for my molten chocolate cake with blueberries......ate it before I got a chance to take a pic........Sorry

It was delish!

I regret now that I didn't take any pictures of the actual resort area as it is really unbelievable how nice it is. It is well hidden away. A true Iowa gem. I hope it stays a well kept secret so that it stays nice forever....but then it wouldn't stay in business very long if no one ever came........

After dinner we dropped mom off at her place and I came home to wrap the presents. I just love giving her things. She is so fun to watch when she is opening gifts. Every bit of her face shows delight....always.

I suppose that is what makes the wrapping of the gifts fun also....the anticipation of her reactions.....
