Seattle Trip 2009

Just got back on Thursday morning....early.... from a 6 day long visit to Seattle to see our son and his wife. (They actually live just outside of Seattle in Lynwood.) The last time we were in the Seattle area...back in September of 2007.....we saw a lot more sunshine than we did this time around.......

There was maybe a total of 20 minutes of sunshine the entire time we were there....mostly it was cloudy, misty, rainy, foggy or all of the above. The above picture was taken from the Kingston Ferry as we traveled across to visit Kingston one afternoon to see what we could see.

....a unique experience for Joe and me...not so unique for Scott and Lins. :)We also visited Pike Street Market....a must see for anyone that goes to the Seattle area! It wasn't very busy as we were there during mid afternoon on a Tuesday. It was nice to be able to take time and browse through the different vendor booths. I was able to get a few interesting pictures....

No fish were being thrown at the fish market.....not enough people around to draw a big enough crowd I guess.

We had a great time with Scott and Lins and their "kids". Oh...you didn't know they had kids? Let me introduce Zoey and Pucker......

They are our substitute Seattle grandchildren for the time being.

We came home to 12 below zero temps....brrrrrr.......and a driveway full of snow.....UGH! Poor Joe had to get the snow blower out.....2 in the morning.....just to dig out the driveway so we could get to the house. It was not a pleasant homecoming. I'm sure the neighbors were not too happy with us and all the noise we were making.

For a little bit....we missed the mid 40's and rainy fog of Seattle..........just for a little bit.

Even after having an enjoyable visit......it is good to be home. :)
